More than 100 years ago, the Commissioner of the US Patent Office thought that the Patent Office could and should be closed down because he could not envision anything new being invented.
Sixty-three or so years later, Emmett Watson and Micheal O’Neill invented and patented the first Differential Scanning Calorimeter, as it would come to be called. Thermal analysis testing has not been the same since then!
